While using Microsoft Word, it’s common to add picture watermark or text watermark in documents for reminding readers that the document is draft, confidential, sample, etc. Here, this article will show you how to add watermark to all pages of a Word document, and add watermark to only one page of a Word document as well.
Traditionally, a watermark was a mark or design placed on paper that was produced by the creation of a variation in the thickness of the paper. Watermarks were only visible only when the paper was held up against light. Watermarks can be used to identify the manufacturer, or the grade, of paper. Today, watermarking has gone digital. Digital watermarks can be added to image or video files, so that the information contained in the file can be identified and copyright protected. Audio files can also be watermarked [source: Britannica].

(13 posts)I have a word 2007 doc with a jpg pic imbedded. I am trying to put a watermark on the doc that spans across the picture.(with intentions of printing the finished doc to a PDF for distribution). Creating the watermark, not a problem. Trying to move the pic behind the watermark, can't do????HELP??????
ive done this, but im not home to double check right now.
trying to go off memory see if any of the following applies ..
a. right click on the image that you embedded and see if theres an option 'send to back' / or in the pain see go to 'align' / or 'position' 'text wrapping style' and select the appropriate position
b. insert the image that youre using as the watermark > for that one, look for the option in the pane to 'align' / or 'position' 'text wrapping style' (?) and select the 'in front' option. and move it around to wherever you want.

hopefully this isnt another one of those cases where the op will never come back to update but i had another thought that might make things a little easier ..
take the image you want to watermark (if its just the image you want to overlay the watermark on) and insert it into an image editor like paint or paint.net or whatever you might have on-board that you use.
take the image that you want to use as a watermark and insert it into a new layer right over the image. Glay discography. Done!
flatten the image and save the changes or 'save as', etc.,etc..

Hi rocmonster,
I use bullzip pdf printer and it has an inbuild watermark option, which will put the watermark over anything in the document. So also over any pics. Maybe this is an option for you?
Thanks Sarah, I'll check w/IT and see if they will allow the download.

Ps2 homebrew elf downloads. Thanks Vistual; I didn't realize I had an option other than 'watermark' to solve this problem. After viewing your tutorial (thanks by the way for taking time to develop that) I created the watermark image using word art, adjusted the size, transparency etc and placed on top of the jpeg image/document. The only thing I could not figure out was how to put the watermark image I created on top of a text box in the document (when I sent the text box behind the text, it ended up behind the picture). But, I can live with the end product. Thanks again.
youre very welcome!
: )
im sure you'll be able to work out any kinks once you start playing around with all the options and thinking outside of the 'program' a little or post back, im sure more ideas and suggestions will come.
